Kuranda via Skyrail

Diary july 19. 2006

See todays photos

The day began with beautifull weather and it has lasted all day.We have been to a marked in Kuranda today. The trip there went by a 7,5 kilometer long aerial ropeway, which at times hang pretty high in the sky....

One of the photos we stupid tourists pay for..

The trip started in a town called Caravonica, where we parked the camper. Afterwards we went on the skyrail. First stop was at "Red peck station", where we could go for a walk in the rainforest. There were also the possibility, of having a guide to tell us about the plants, but we skipped that. Next stop was at "Barron falls station", where a huge waterfall tumbled dawn the cliffs. At last we ended up in Kuranda. We passed a big river on the last part of the trip and we were lucky to see crocodiles.

The whole gang on one of the two stops on the way to the top!

The town Kuranda itself is a real tourists paradis of "Australien rubbish". But it is a very nice place to walk about and we got to buy the last few things. A "Dirigioo" and a new hat to Claus, with real crocodile teeth of course.

The 7.5 kilometers back were also by skyrail of course. A really good experience, that anyone should try.

Tonight we will pack most of our things, since we are returning the camper tomorrow. Then we will stay at a hotel hotel/resort for two days, before the journey goes to Denmark.
